Famous Indian writer and poet Javed Akhtar has said about the new Indian film ‘Animal’ that it is a dangerous situation that such films are proving to be super hits.

According to the website Pinkvilla.com, Javed Akhtar spoke on the occasion of the Ajanta Ellora International Film Festival in the Indian city of Aurangabad, talking about the superhit movies these days. Without directly naming Ranbir Kapoor, the hero of the film Animal, he said, “If there is a film in which a man says to a woman, ‘Tu Mere Jute Chaat.’ If a man says, ‘What’s wrong with slapping that woman?’ It is a very dangerous thing if that movie is a super hit.

Javed Akhtar was talking about Ranbir’s controversial scene in Animal in which his character asks actress Tripathi Damri to lick his shoes to prove that she truly loves him.

He explained that all the emphasis is being given to the moviegoers on what kind of movies they want to watch so that the movie is successful.

According to Javed Akhtar: “A huge responsibility lies with the cinema-goers more than the cinema-makers.” This is your responsibility. You decide what kind of films will be made. He said that the ball is in the court of filmmakers.

Animal is backed by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar’s T-Series, Murad Khetani’s Sine One Studios and Pranay Reddy Wanga’s Bhadrakali Pictures. The film is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. This film is based on the strained relationship between father and son.
