Legal Journey with Islamabad Law Students Forum in Pakistan

I joined the Islamabad Law Students Forum as a joint secretary ILSF RLC Civil Lines Wing in October 2023 in order to explore the legal practical education.

Introduction
Islamabad Law Students Forum (ILSF), a platform where passion meets purpose in the realm of legal education.Forum, consisting of five wings from prominent institutions such as the International Islamic University Islamabad, Bahria University Islamabad, Quaid E Azam University Islamabad, IBADAT International University Islamabad, and Rawalpindi Law College Civil Lines, is a vibrant hub for aspiring legal professionals. Committed to academic excellence and collaboration, ILSF provides a dynamic platform for networking, knowledge-sharing, and engagement in various legal activities, fostering a community dedicated to shaping the future of legal education.

Past Activities
ILSF arranged following impressive activities in whole 6 months of legal journey since it’s formation:

Study Tours: Forum visited Federal Shariat Court where students observed the court hearing headed by Chief Justice of Federal Shariah Court, session with legal researcher and tea talk with Registrar; ILSF visited Supreme Court of Pakistan where students observed the court hearing headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa, after that visited Supreme Court Museum and took a group photo with Chief Justice; in this journey, ILSF were honoured to visit the Council of Islamic Ideology, Pakistan and Questions/Answers session with Chairman Dr Qibla Ayaz.

Seminars : ILSF was esteemed to organise different seminars including “Rule of Law & Constitutional Role of Courts” at auditoriums of Rawalpindi and Islamabad Bars.

Memorandum of Understanding :
ILSF was honoured to sign MOU with Rawalpindi and Islamabad Bars.On February 19th,2024, National Law College Rawalpindi signed MOU with Forum in order to conduct legal discussions and Mock Trails for the effective legal education.ILSF recognised by International Islamic University, Quaid-e-Azam University and Bahria University Islamabad in to order to provide their auditoriums for seminars and other legal activities.Rawalpindi Law College Civil Lines Campus will also sign MOU with ILSF in coming days.

ILSF’s Constitution
The constitution of Islamabad Law Students Forum is a comprehensive document and comprising of preamble, 7 Chapters and 23 articles. The constitution covers all relevant aspects including structure, aims and objectives of forum.

Constitution Team : A special team was made in order to draft the constitution of Islamabad Law Students Forum. President ILSF, General Secretary ILSF, Joint Secretary ILSF RLC Civil Lines Wing (Now Joint Secretary ILSF central cabinet) and Media Secretary ILSF actively participated in framing the Constitutional draft. My main focus was on drafting these chapters like Headquarter, membership for ILSF including eligibility criteria, meetings/special meetings, finance, amendment and elections.The President ILSF authenticated the constitution on 29th December 2023 and central cabinet of Islamabad Law Students Forum passed it on 1st January 2024.

Future Planings
I’m not authorised to share the forum’s future planings but I may indicate you that in coming times the Islamabad Law Students Forum will organise such events and activities that never would have organised in Twin Cities.
