An explosion has occurred outside the Israeli Embassy in New Delhi, the capital of India.
According to the Indian newspaper Times of India, an explosion took place outside the Israeli Embassy in New Delhi’s Chankyapuri area on Tuesday evening.
According to the newspaper, senior police officials have reached the spot and are investigating the incident.
However, Director of Delhi Fire Service Atul Ganj said that ‘nothing has been found at the scene so far.’
“We can confirm that there was an explosion near the embassy at 5:20 p.m.,” Guy Nair, a spokesman for the Israeli embassy in Delhi, told Reuters.
He said that the officials of the local police and security agencies are investigating the incident.
Meanwhile, the Israeli Foreign Minister said that the staff and all officials of the Israeli embassy were safe in the explosion.
He said that the Israeli authorities are cooperating with their Indian counterparts in the investigation of the incident.
It should be noted that in January 2021, a small bomb exploded near the Israeli embassy in Delhi. There was no loss of life in this explosion either.
At that time, an Israeli official said that “Israel considers this explosion to be a terrorist incident.”
