Electric blankets are a boon in extreme cold

Electric blankets

In severe winters when gas is scarce, an electric blanket that can keep the bed warm is no less than a luxury, and electric blankets have become popular over the past few years.

However, a British company has warned that electric blankets sold online could cause electric shocks.

This British company, Wich, educates consumers about products to make their purchasing decisions easier.

According to the company, some electric blankets sold online “are of poor quality and may prove to be dangerous.”

This concern was not expressed only by the same company, but the charity called Electrical Safety First says that such products, which are sold online by a third party instead of the manufacturer, are quite dangerous.

They say that new rules and regulations are needed to protect consumers.

It should be noted that one of the reasons for the increase in demand for electric blankets is the recent economic crisis, in which many people want to reduce energy costs.

Electrical Safety First has identified problems with the manufacturing, packaging and accompanying instructions for these products.

On the other hand, the company said that several products had cords that could easily be pulled, while others did not have safety features.

On the one hand, while safety concerns related to the use of electric blankets have been expressed, on the other hand, it has also been said that many electric blankets do not even work properly.

It should be noted that the products that have been flagged by Wich have been removed from online.

Wich believes that online sites should show more responsibility so that unsafe and illegal products are not sold through their platforms.

Many of the products Wych marked were products that could not legally be sold in the UK.

Sue Davis, head of consumer protection policy at the company, says the prospect of buying cheap products online could put people’s lives at risk.

He said that the government should immediately implement legal responsibility on the online market.

A bill supported by Electrical Safety First was also introduced in the UK Parliament last week.

The bill was intended to change the rules of online marketplaces to ensure that the products sold on these sites are safe in the current system.

According to Electrical Safety First, major online platforms, EmmaZone Marketplace, eBay, Facebook Marketplace and Wish.com have also found highly dangerous electrical products being sold by third parties.

On the other hand, AliExpress, eBay and Wish.com say they take security issues seriously and have removed all the products that were flagged.

The company also contacted the sellers of these products but none of them responded.
